Thomas C.
Private tutor in Waterloo, Canada
Education
- PhD French Studies ( graduation expected in 2016) -Master's of Arts in French Studies from the University of Connecticut - Master's of FLE ( teaching French as A Foreign Language) from La Sorbonne in Paris, France.
Experience
-Sessional instructor at the University of Waterloo : FR 192A ( French for future specialists), FR 151 ( beginner's level). - Sessional instructor at the University of Connecticut : FR 163 ( advanced level), FR 162 ( Intermediate), FR 161( Beginners) - I have been tutoring students for 3 years - Took several classes on French-teaching theory ( setting up new ways of helping students how to learn French ) when I was at la Sorbonne in Paris, France. I love tutoring because it gives me the feeling that I am truly helping someone. All the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years has to be shared and spread out, otherwise it is useless. I have met so many students that were desperate because they they did not understand French when all they needed was to just see it differently. It's always a pleasure for me to help and motivate students by telling them that they are capable of much more than they think.

Hobbies
I was born and raised in Paris, France. I have lived there for 23 years and go back there to see my family for holidays. I am adaptable, patient and I never give up. Since I had to learn a second language I know how frustrating and mind-boggling it can be sometimes, but I also know that through perseverance and hard-work, anything is possible. I also learned how to play the guitar and the piano by myself. I have been playing both instruments for 14 years and I write and compose songs in French for my friends or myself
