Kailee A.
Private tutor in Waterloo, Canada
Education
Bachelor of Education-Junior/intermediate-Music, June 2011 Bachelor of Music Education, completed June 2010 both at Wilfrid Laurier University
Experience
Have tutored a young boy (now in Grade 7) for 3 years in every subject from math to English, to music and science. Have tutored 2 boys now in Grade 6, for a year in mostly Math and Language. I want to be a tutor because I want to teach and am training to become a teacher. I like working one-on-one with students and seeing the progress that can be made in that setting. I have a degree in teaching, so I understand how the school system works, base my lessons on the Ontario Curriculum and know how to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of each individual student. I have also taken an Additional Qualifications course in Special Education and work with students of any area of need. I was chosen as the Outreach Volunteer of the Year in 2009 for my tutoring work through Laurier Students for Learning. I have spent a total of almost 5 months over the last year in Nkwanta, Ghana, volunteering at an orphanage and teaching the children who live there.
